Computers are fragile things. Data is lost, for either hardware or software reasons. Software goes out of date, hardware becomes obsolete. Why do we put up with this? I want to be able to point any computer that I rightfully have ownership of, point it to a server of mine, and be jacked right back into my setup.
As a developer and enthusiast I refuse to have to configure my tools over and over again. I learn them deeply and set them up to be exactly how I want. But I should only go through that process once. And just like the hammer of Thor, I should be able to summon them from anywhere. That is the goal.
