title: "Who Reads This?" date: 2020-05-05T23:47:41+10:00 draft: false
I don't use analytics on this website. That's by design. I don't believe in tracking the people who decide to read this website, and use the dark magic of statistics to garner insights so I can better pander to my audience. I guess on some level this website is primarily for me (though it's been two years I'm still not quite sure what to do with it 😅) so it doesn't matter to me who reads this or if anyone even does. Saying that, it still does make me happy to know there are people who do read this.
So I have basically zero insight into who is reading this and why they would choose to do so. The one place I can gleam some insight is from my web server logs. I use GoAccess to visualize the logs, but I don't even check it much, because again, I have no reason to.
So what's all this about? I'm joining another online "movement" centered around personal websites and this is the first post. It's called #100DaysToOffload, and the guiding principle is to "Just. Write.". A post everday for 100 days. So that's what I'm going to be doing. I'm not gonna make some grand claim that I'll actually be successful, but here's to hoping this will breathe the much needed life into my otherwise lackluster web presence.
