Derek worked a white collar job. He sat in his cubicle from Nine to Five so he could make enough money to keep himself happy. Derek had dreams too. He liked to believe that one day, far into the future, he'd make a lot more money. Enough money that he could buy a grande house, and an expensive car. Enough money to attract the attention of all the beautiful girls who only wanted sex. Derek often found himself dreaming when he was working too. He only dreamed of his dream. It was Derek's tragic flaw as a hero, at least that's what he liked to think. He liked to think of himself as an adventurer of moderninty where the hurdles weren't dragons, and the treasure wasn't. Instead the hurdle was gold and the treasure was life. Derek's life, however, was empty.
