Being a Nomad at heart, a belligerent hipster, and a nerd through and through, I'm constantly thinking about personal input devices. I already have a Ergodox EZ for my main desk. I love ErgoMechKeyboards in lots of their forms, but am happy enough with my Ergodox (What would I do with 2 ErgoMechKeyboards?!). I built a Paintbrush for on the go usage. I'm a big fan of the idea of the Twiddler and the GrabShell.
It's not enough. Input devices have so far to go. We can do so much better, forget about Glass on Panes. I want haptic feedback gloves with gesture based input, including versatility to use effectively as a writer.
The holy grail, as a zealot of FOSS, would be sub-vocal recognition of course. I don't imagine brain implants being good and going FOSS until the end of my life-time. These are possibly about to become products, but currently remain research projects.
I'm considering building a chordite next, but it's quite old, and I imagine it's designed could be improved. A thumb button seems like a great idea.
